2013 Blanchard Regatta

Postby GaryGertley » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:13 pm

I will be at the Blanchard Regatta.

Some people seem to prefer the 14th Ave ramp over the North Lake Union ramp.

I would appreciate any information on this subject.

Both ramps seem to have restricted maneuvering room with overhead wires and limited parking. I have never used the 14th Ave ramp and I last used the North Lake Union ramp over 10 years ago.

I always use the Sunnyside ramp on Northlake and it works fine. Pull in along side the Porta-potty facing west to step the mast and rig. This gets you inside the overhead wires and out of the way. This time of year it's not too busy but watch out for the "Ride the Ducks". You can park with trailers on the street, just not overnight. CWB is allowing us to stow trailers in their north lot. Contact Gene or me for the code.

Before you get too excited better check out the forecast... it's looking ugly. :-(
