1976 sj21 Mast step

Postby Dennis » Thu Jul 03, 2014 11:38 am

Hi I have recently acquired a 1976 SJ21 I already have a 1972 so I am a very little familiar with the SJ's. The mast step on the 76 is different than the 72 my question is on the forward part of the step there are two holes one on Starboard and one on Port side. Need to know if there are any type of fasteners required in these holes. it does have the pivot pin on the aft end of Step plate.
Thank you for you help.

I don't use them. Most folk don't that I am aware. Not pinning the forward plate holes allows you to rake the mast back.

Thank you for the tip . The 1972 SJ that I have has minimal rigging and controls the 1976 has a lot of things to learn about.
